Complementary Therapist (Cancer Care) Focus on Family
Location Coleraine area
Description Volunteers are required for the role of Complementary Therapist (Cancer Care) in the Coleraine Area. The aim of this service is to ensure that people affected by cancer have access to high quality assured complementary therapy. If you have a qualification in at least one of the following aromatherapy, massage or reflexology as recognised by the Complementary National Health Care Council (CNHC), and can spare one morning or afternoon per week, then this may be the role for you. As a complementary Therapist you will use complementary therapy to contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of those affected by cancer. Providing emotional, social and practical support to both patients and carers as appropriate. This role may suit someone who /has: A helpful and caring attitude. Excellent listening skills. Understands the importance of discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality. Works well under pressure, and is comfortable discussing issues surrounding health, life and death. Has the ability to work as part of a team. An open, compassionate, and personable individual with the ability to make people feel at ease and offer an emotional connection.
