Beauty Advisor Volunteer (Look Good, Feel Better)
Location L'Derry
Description

Look Good Feel Better, Beauty Adviser Volunteer, Altnagelvin Hospital.

Role Description:

The role- Beauty advisers participating in the LGFB Workshops or Make-up Masterclass are part of the LGFB national team of volunteers.

The role is to share skincare and make-up expertise with groups of women who are being treated for cancer.

The aim is to make the time interesting, relaxing, informative and enjoyable ~ the patients deserve to be pampered. It’s important to pay as much individual attention as needed to make sure each lady in the group follows the skincare and make-up regime correctly and can duplicate the beauty technique on her own.

The best way is for ladies to follow each step using the products themselves with guidance from the beauty advisers so they benefit more from a ‘”teaching” approach rather than having everything done for them.

Key responsibilities:

  • Attend pre-arranged Workshop and Masterclass dates
  • Represent LGFB in a caring and professional way
  • To ensure a timely arrival to help set a session up
  • Greet the patients in a welcoming manner
  • Ensure an introduction is done before each session commences
  • Conduct the Workshop or Masterclass in accordance with the format shown in the LGFB Volunteer training material
  • Distribute patient questionnaires
  • Tidy the room and return supplies to storage
  • Complete the Beauty Adviser Questionnaire for LGFB head office purposes
  • Call LGFB immediately if there were any problems or areas of concern during a Workshop or Masterclass

Experience:

  •  LGFB requires volunteers to have had at least one year’s experience working in the beauty industry. This should be hands-on experience using skincare and make-up products.
  • Individuals who have previously worked in the industry or have retired are very welcome.
