Description We’re looking for volunteers who we can call upon to support the PR Team in sourcing interesting and unique stories at our fundraising events. Why we need you We are always trying to raise our profile and one way of doing this is by sending stories to journalists about the wonderful events and challenges our fundraisers are doing. With just a small in-house PR Team, it’s impossible to go to every event - so we’re asking you to become our eyes and ears… What will I be doing? • Attending runs, challenges and other events in your local area • Talking to fundraisers and writing down their stories to pass on to the in-house Make-A-Wish PR Team • You may also be working with a Volunteer Photographer to help them write down the names of each fundraiser they are taking photos of What skills and attributes do I need? • Good communication skills are essential • You will need to be approachable, friendly, sensitive and confident How much time do I need to commit? This is an 'as and when' opportunity and is likely to be irregular and infrequent. Most events will require you to be there for at least 3-4 hours, but it's likely to be much longer. What support will I be given? • Online induction • Online role specific training • We have a dedicated Volunteering Team to assist you when needed and a PR Team who will brief you prior to each engagement • You will have full access to our volunteer website, Wishnet, where you can communicate with staff and volunteers across Make-A-Wish • We will reimburse agreed expenses incurred as a result of your volunteer role
