Befriending- Older People's Friend (Abbeyfield & Wesley)
Location Portstewart
Description It's all about hearts and minds, not just bricks and mortar! We are looking for volunteers to work as House Friends with older people in our Abbeyfield Houses on a one-to-one basis, enhancing the wellbeing of our Abbeyfield & Wesley residents or tenants. With good interpersonal skills, a sense of humour and the ability to listen and chat, you will become a part of the house team and help complement the work that staff already do. Depending on the person's interests and abilities, this role may also include accompanying them walking or on shopping/leisure activities. We are also looking for volunteers who will help compile Life Stories with our residents.
