Fundraising and Events Volunteer (Action On Hearing Loss)
Location Throughout Northern Ireland
Description To assist with fundraising activities across Northern Ireland. Action on Hearing Loss currently spends approximately 1.5 million on services and support to make a difference to the lives of deaf or hard of hearing people. Suggested tasks:  Taking part in an organised Action on Hearing Loss collection.  Supporting Action on Hearing Loss fundraising team at events (may include registration, marshalling, welcoming participants, giving out refreshments).  Promotion of events.  Attend cheque presentations.  Attend fundraising talks.  Join fundraising group and organise own events.  Drop off/pick up materials.  Manage collection boxes. Skills needed:.  Good verbal communication skills.  Good numerical skills (if dealing with money).  Be available and willing to attend events which may include evenings and weekends. Training/learning needed: Action on Hearing Loss NI offers full, on-going training for all volunteers including a one-day induction programme and further training specific to the volunteering role. Time: The level of commitment depends on the individual volunteer. Location: Northern Ireland wide. Support and supervision: Regular support will be given by your Volunteer Co-ordinator Benefits of volunteering:  Training learning new skills, and gaining up-to-date knowledge of issues affecting deaf and hard of hearing people;  Experience meeting new people in different situations, building new friendships with other Action on Hearing Loss volunteers;  Fulfillment knowing that your support at events and as Action on Hearing Loss representative will make a real difference to those who receive it, and raising deaf awareness throughout society as a whole;  Expenses all expenses incurred as a result of your volunteering will be reimbursed, according to the Action on Hearing Loss expenses policy;  Opportunity to try other volunteering roles within Action on Hearing Loss. Disclosure: All volunteers are required to complete an Access NI check, as some of your work may include working with vulnerable adults. Whether or not a check will be carried out will depend on the nature of the role that is agreed you will undertake.
