Volunteer digi-Pal Champion

The main focus of this role is to promote awareness in your local community, of:
  • how to stay safe in the online world
  • risks that the local community should be alert to
  • how individuals can connect with organisations who can help them should they have specific issues or problems relating to online safety.

Digi-PAL Champions will be supported by a multi agency group with staff from Western Health and Social Care Trust, Northern Health and Social Care Trust, NEXUS NI, NSPCC and Causeway Coast and Glens PCSP on an ongoing basis whilst they carry out their role of promoting online safety.

In order to undertake the role, champions are required to:

  • be aged 18 years or older
  • be living or working within the Causeway Coast and Glens area
  • have some ability to use a laptop, tablet or smartphone
  • have some understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding
  • be available for training which will run on Friday mornings 26th January-23rd February 2018 inclusive, although the final Friday will be a full day)
  • be respectful of and follow digi-Pal confidentiality, safeguarding and other policies closely

We anticipate that digi-Pal Champions will contribute to online safety awareness at a local level for at least 12 months following the initial training. Ongoing support, information and training will be provided.
