Cruse Bereavement Care

Adult Bereavement Support Volunteer

Cruse is a national charity which offers support, advice and information to people of all ages when someone dies.

Role Description:

  • To provide face to face bereavement support to adults for up to six support sessions ( for which training is offered) note that there is a cost for undertaking the training although this is subsidised.
  • To feedback information about support when it is concluded and conduct evaluations, completing admin/paperwork.
  • To attend regular group supervision (6 weekly) and attend ongoing training and development (which is free once trained as a volunteer).

Desirable skills:

  • No formal qualifications are necessary.
  • You need to have time to spare and to care about bereaved people.
  • Ability to listen/previous talking support roles are beneficial.
  • Some PC knowledge as some information circulated via email and online.

Additional:

  • Location : Ballymoney or Coleraine
  • Must be over 18 years old
  • Training is provided
  • The Bereavement Support Foundation Training Programme starts on 15th September 2018. It runs on 15th September, 29thSeptember, 13th October. Followed by working with clients Face to Face elective on 3rd and 24th November. Training days will run from 9:30am to 4:30pm at the Robinson Hospital Ballymoney. You must be available on all dates.
