Description

At the Volunteer Centre we know how to look after volunteers and are enthusiastic about what we do. We make volunteers feel welcome and supported and involve them in everything we do. You will be working as part of a small team and will be given every opportunity to learn and grow. Initially your role will be to process forms and you will be free to continue to do this. However if you want to take on additional and more ambitious roles we will give you the chance to do so.

This opportunity will appeal to someone who is looking for work and wants to update their CV or to someone who is not currently working but wishes to keep up their skills or use their skills to help others.

Causeway Volunteer Centre

Admin Volunteer

Causeway Volunteer Centre works to bring people together, reduce isolation and give people a chance to feel valued. We work with organisations to create opportunities for volunteers and promote these to the general public. We provide support for people to volunteer so that they can gain experience, learn skills, meet new people and promote physical, mental and emotional well being.

We work with community groups, statutory organisations, social and sports clubs, schools, charity shops, animal and environmental groups. We work with the general public and ensure that people from less able backgrounds are not left out.

Role Description:

To provide administrative service for the Volunteer Centre so that volunteers and placement organisations get an increased level of support.

Main Tasks:

  • Processing vetting forms, including checking details on forms, supporting documents and liaising with applicants and placement organisations
  • Submission of online forms to Access NI
  • Filing and storing confidential information
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Must be IT literate
  • Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Be able to respect confidentiality
  • Previous experience of administration would be a distinct advantage

Additional:

  • Location: River House, Castle Lane, Coleraine
  • Time required: One morning/afternoon per week, flexible to suit volunteer
  • All necessary training is provided in the Centre as well as ongoing support
  • Travel expenses are paid at public transport rates ie bus fare or 0.25 per mile
