National Trust-Giant's Causeway

Meet and Greet Volunteer

The National Trust was founded in 1895 by three people who saw the importance of our nation’s heritage and open spaces and wanted to preserve them for everyone to enjoy. More than 120 years later, these values are still at the heart of everything we do.

We look after special places throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland for ever, for everyone.

Role Description:

  • Making everyone welcome, answering questions about the Giant’s Causeway, neighbouring sites and the Trust as a whole
  • Finding out what’s on offer at the Giant’s Causeway and the other local sites, so you can promote the Trust and encourage people to join
  • Keeping in touch with the wider team, so you know what’s happening each day
  • Getting to know health and safety and evacuation procedures and taking part in first aid training so you can come to visitor’s aid if needs be.
  • Use your cheery nature and great communication skills to help people feel welcomed and informed about how to make the most of their visit
  • Help the site meet survey targets

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Someone who loves meeting new people-there’ll be plenty everyday!
  • Passionate about the Giant’s Causeway and the Trust as a whole
  • Cheerful –even when a coach party has just arrived and it’s a little bit hectic!
  • Organised and accurate at recording data

Additional:

  • We’ll  help you get to know the Giant’s Causeway, how you can help and how you will work with the rest of the team-with induction and training
  • We’ll cover agreed costs of your travel between home and the Giant’s Causeway.
