Rangers love the countryside and being out in the fresh air, so they know what our outdoor visitors need. They're great at taking care of the local wildlife and stunning landscapes  for ever for everyone.

What’s involved?

  • Helping the ranger team with practical work
  • Engaging with visitors
  • Helping visitors understand why it is important to look after special places
  • Thinking about the needs of all visitors, including disabled people and families
  • Practical help with events
  • Letting staff know about any issues with fences, paths, etc.
  • Getting to know health and safety procedures

This role will suit you if you are…

  • Cheerful, positive and keen to help
  • Willing to get stuck into anything on a busy day, even when the weather’s not on your side
  • Reasonably fit and healthy

Extra information

  • All equipment necessary will be provided
  • Uniform provided (subject to availability)
  • Reimbursement of out-of-pocket travel costs between home and volunteering location (up to 40 miles per day) in accordance with National Trust policy and agreed with the National Trust manager.
