To enhance the quality of life for older deaf and hard of hearing people in the community and residential homes by reducing social isolation.
Suggested tasks: Spend time on a regular basis with older deaf and hard of hearing people in the community ? friendship, support, shopping trips, visits, and other community activities. This maybe in 1:1 settings or through In Touch Groups. Providing support in residential homes such as training for staff and befriending of residents. Goal setting with befriendee for year ahead.

Expenses ? all expenses incurred as a result of your volunteering will be reimbursed in line with Action on Hearing Loss policy Become involved in the Deaf and hard of hearing community in N Ireland. Work as part of a team.
A full Action on Hearing Loss Induction will be provided, as well as specific training in the role of befriender- befriending and vulnerable adults.
You will need to be prepared to commit to a regular visit to the client, on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis over the period of 1 year. 18+
