Why we need your help
We are looking for friendly, flexible volunteer drivers to assist Marie Curie in our work to
reach and support more people living with a terminal illness, and their families.
You will be assigned to a team responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the charity.
This could involve tasks where you transport materials or other resources within our sites or
across your community.
You’ll not only be saving the charity from expensive postal costs but you will be helping us to
provide the best service possible to the people we support.
What we need you to do
Your role will include some of, but is not restricted to, the following tasks:
Deliver or collect materials and resources within Marie Curie locations or in the community
Plan the most cost-effective pick-up and delivery routes
Support with stock management and storage where applicable.
Help maintain a system to record collection requests, pick-ups and/ or deliveries
Drive a Marie Curie vehicle, if required
Undergo necessary training and follow the guidance of your manager
Help with other related tasks when necessary.
This role will not involve the transportation of patients or clients
What skills or experience do you need?
A friendly and outgoing personality
Reliability and a sense of responsibility
Good organisational skills and time-keeping
An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
Good knowledge of the local area
Your own vehicle
