Tiny Life is Northern Ireland's premature and vulnerable baby charity, dedicated to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in babies born here. We have helped support premature and ill babies and their parents since 1988. Almost 2000 babies spent time in the Neonatal units last year in Northern Ireland so this year we need your help more than ever.
TinyLife is committed to providing a range of support services that meet the growing needs of families of premature and ill babies in Northern Ireland. TinyLife continues to support vital research to ensure that every pregnancy has the best chance of a healthy outcome and a healthy baby.
Family Support Volunteers provide practical, social and emotional support to families.
Each family is assessed by a Family Support Officer who will then match the family and volunteer.
The volunteer will visit the family in their own home once per week for a morning or afternoon.
As a volunteer you will be helping with practical tasks of feeding, changing and playing with babies, along with providing support to the parents.
Skills and Experience:
Volunteers would need to have a genuine interest in nurturing children and supporting families.
Time Required:Ideally, you should be able to commit to a family for at least a year.
Full training and support will be given along with regular supervision by a family support officer.
