Role Description:
Listen Share Change Reader/Facilitator
This opportunity will appeal to someone who is comfortable in a group setting and happy to take a lead role. You will get great satisfaction in enabling the members to develop ideas and come to new awareness of themselves and others. This is a great role for someone who has experience in training, teaching or working with groups or who would like to learn these skills. Most of us fear ‘public speaking’ so if you want to overcome this fear, why don’t you have a go in a non-threatening environment.
Main tasks:
To read a short story (about 7 pages) to a group of adults and lead discussions on the topic, encourage participation and ensure order within the group.
Desirable skills and experience:
Full training is given for this role but you will need to be a competent reader and be comfortable leading a group. You will need to be able to achieve a balance between taking authority and allowing others to contribute.
