Community Development Volunteer (Mae Murray Foundation)

Causeway Coast & Glens

Mae Murray Foundation(MMF) is a registered charity set up to help people of all abilities take part and be included within society-particularly those feeling excluded due to age, complex need, disability, medical or undiagnosed condition. We have projects reaching most of Northern Ireland but are most well-known for creating Northern Ireland’s first inclusive beaches-Benone, Cranfield and Groomsport.

An exciting volunteer opportunity has arisen for the right person to join our team in the role of Community Development. Having launched inclusive beaches and created adapted all-ability play kits in various areas, we now need an enthusiastic volunteer to promote and demonstrate these free resources to local communities.

You will play a key role in engaging with local communities to explain processes, lead on equipment familiarisation sessions, increase usage and feedback on any further identified unmet need within the community with which Mae Murray Foundation may be able to assist. You will be an integral part of building capacity to support the local community from an MMF perspective.

The time commitment is a minimum of two days per month, but this may be divided out into blocks of hours as suits individual applicants. The Community Development Volunteer will take direction laid down by the Foundation’s Operations and Membership Manager. This role is deemed regulated activity and as such will be subject to Enhanced Access NI checks.
