Have you some spare time to support a young person leaving the care system?
You will be working on a one to one basis with a young person aged between 14 and 21 who is in the process of leaving the care system.
Volunteers meet up with them on a regular basis for social activities to build confidence, raise esteem and engage in their local communities.
The scheme works for both people who can enjoy the social involvement.
Times are flexible to suit and all activities are funded.
The scheme is funded by The Northern Trust so would cover Coleraine, Ballymoney, Portrush, Portstewart and Ballycastle.
The young people find themselves in the care system usually due to family breakdown. Most young people live in children’s homes or foster placements and are usually socially isolated or they may be lacking in confidence.
Volunteers receive training beforehand and supported in their role. Travel expenses reimbursed.
