Family Support Volunteer

Home-Start volunteers work in support of families who have young children and who may be experiencing illness, disability or isolation, or just need extra support.

The volunteer will visit a family weekly in their own home, offering practical help, support and friendship to parents and may do play-based activities with children. Ideally volunteers should be parents or grandparents, or have parenting knowledge.

Requirements

·         Commit to a minimum of 2-3 hours per week (according to the family’s needs)

·         Non-judgemental

·         Empathetic, listen with understanding

·         Remain confidential

You will receive high quality training and support from Home-Start.
