Volunteer Role Description

Role Title: Fundraising Volunteer

Location: Coleraine and surrounding areas.

Hours: Flexible, based on your availability

Reports to: Community Manager

Principal Function

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you’ll play an important part in supporting the USPCA’s work by helping raise vital funds. This role involves representing the charity at community events, assisting with collections, and supporting fundraising activities that help protect animals in need.

General Duties

In this role, volunteers help ensure fundraising activities run smoothly and positively represent the USPCA. Duties include:

·         Supporting the USPCA at fundraising events, collections, and community activities

·         Engaging with members of the public in a friendly and positive way

·         Helping set up and pack away materials for events

·         Promoting the work and values of the USPCA

·         Following all organisational policies, procedures, and guidance

All Volunteers Are Required To:

·         Take reasonable care of their own health and safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions, and follow the USPCA Health & Safety Policy at all times

·         Adhere to the USPCA Volunteer Policy and uphold the standards expected of all representatives of the charity

·         Follow all fundraising regulations as set out by the Charity Regulator

·         Operate within the guidelines outlined in all USPCA policies and procedures

·         Maintain a smart and professional appearance while volunteering, wearing the USPCA uniform provided and ensuring their ID badge is visible at all times

·         Keep all information strictly confidential and handle sensitive matters with discretion

·         Participate in any training the USPCA deems necessary to support them in their role

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

You don’t need formal qualifications just enthusiasm and a willingness to help. The role is ideal for someone who:

·         Is over 18 years old

·         Is friendly, polite, and hardworking

·         Enjoys being part of a team

·         Is reliable and trustworthy

·         Is comfortable representing the USPCA and supporting the aims of the charity

·         Is happy to follow the organisation’s policies and procedures

Personal Qualities

We’re looking for volunteers who are:

·         Approachable and confident speaking with the public

·         Positive, enthusiastic, and motivated

·         Able to work well with others and contribute to a supportive team environment

·         Passionate about animal welfare and the USPCA’s mission

Training and Support

You won’t be expected to jump in alone; full training and ongoing support will be provided. Volunteers will receive guidance from the Community Manager and the wider team to help them feel confident in the role.
