Become a Cruse Bereavement Support Speaker or Ambassador

Join our team of passionate volunteers who inspire others to get involved in our work.

Speakers share stories about the work we do to community groups and businesses across Northern Ireland. They inspire people and encourage them to get involved by giving, volunteering and fundraising for our vital work. 

Ambassadors look for opportunities to develop new relationships with people, businesses and groups in the local community. They tell people about our life changing work and help them explore how they can get involved.

Speakers and ambassadors are provided with support and training, a wide range of resources and out-of-pocket expenses.

Role Profile:

Speaker

As a volunteer speaker you would:

·         Give talks to a variety of community groups and businesses about Cruse Bereavement Support’s work.

·         Inspire groups and businesses to support Cruse Bereavement Support and/or raise funds.

·         Generate talks in your local community and keep Cruse Bereavement Support’s Fundraising Team updated on up and coming talks.

What makes a good speaker?

·         The confidence to speak to a range of people, community groups and businesses. 

·         A commitment to Cruse Bereavement Support’s vision, mission and values.

·         Confident speaking in public.

·         Some knowledge or experience of bereavement and grief.   

Ambassador

As an ambassador you would:

·         Make introductions to key community figures, groups and networks who could help with fundraising.

·         Introduce our fundraising team to decision makers in local companies and community organisations who could support Cruse Bereavement Support and/or raise money or donate.

·         Attend local functions, meetings and fundraising group events as a Cruse Bereavement Support representative.

What makes a good ambassador?

·         Good relationship management skills

·         Strong communication and influencing  skills, especially  over  the phone  and  on  email

·         A commitment to Cruse Bereavement Support’s vision, mission and values.

·         Some knowledge or experience of bereavement and grief.
