As the days grow shorter and leaves begin to fall, we’re embracing the season of change with gratitude and renewed purpose. Autumn invites us to reflect on recent celebrations, share important updates, and explore new ways to connect with our community. Whether you're a volunteer, organisation, or supporter — thank you for being part of the Causeway Volunteer Centre. Your dedication continues to brighten even the darker days.

This season, we’re excited to share highlights from our recent events, introduce upcoming opportunities to get involved, and spotlight the incredible contributions of volunteers across the Causeway area.

Volunteer Fair – A Celebration of Community Spirit

On Tuesday 30th September, Ballymoney Town Hall came alive with energy and purpose as 14 local organisations gathered to share volunteer roles and recruit new faces.

Attendees enjoyed friendly chat over a cuppa, explored opportunities, and learned what volunteering involves.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us—and especially to our fantastic stallholders for making the evening so welcoming and inspiring!

Access NI Update

From 1st September 2025, Access NI will issue digital-only disclosure certificates.

What this means:

Criminal history (or absence of) will be available only via digital certificates
Organisations may need to update procedures to accept these new formats

Training Opportunities

We’re currently registering interest for the following courses:

Child Safeguarding Level 1 – Thursday 16th October at 9.15am

Other courses:

Basic Child Protection
Adult Safeguarding
Designated Officer
Volunteer Management
First Aid

Courses require a minimum of 12 participants. Register your interest today

EPIC Awards – Empowering People In Communities

Celebrate your volunteers with the EPIC Award programme:

Free to join
Open to all types of volunteering
Awarded for completing 50+ volunteer hours in any 12-month period
Hours can be gained with one or multiple organisations
