Volunteer Roles within NCCR

Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Volunteer

TNR work is at the heart and soul of NCCR and is one of the main goals set out by the charity from the very beginning. The North Coast area (like most areas of Northern Ireland) has multiple feral colonies large and small needing our help. 

This role involves:

• Working as a team with other TNR volunteers on both small and large scale TNR jobs
• Handling trapping equipment 
• Learning more about feral cats and their unique behaviours
• Transporting cats to and from our designated vets for TNR procedures
• Releasing feral cats back to their original locations
• Raising awareness of TNR work 
• Representing NCCR during TNR work 
• Communicating with members of the public and landowners 

This role does require a clean driving licence as well as volunteering after normal working hours. This is probably one of the most rewarding volunteer roles NCCR can offer, seeing cats physically benefit from your care and compassion and go on to live long and healthy lives is one of the best feelings in the world! 

Fundraising Coordinator 

If you’re interested in volunteering with people and cats, and enjoy organising events, this could be the role for you.  You can make the Fundraising Group Coordinator role your own - you can take on as much or little as works for you, with the option to share the role. You’ll also have the full support of the NCCR team.

This role involves:

• Bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to help the team develop new ideas and activities that will raise funds for NCCR.
• Putting your excellent organisation skills to good use by arranging fundraising events.
• Planning fundraising events 

This is more of an administrative role and would be perfect for those who don’t drive but still wish to help! 

Time commitment: 2-10 hours per month. 

Fundraising/Event volunteer 

This is a flexible role and you are able to decide how often your help raise funds for NCCR 

This role includes: 

• Helping to support with a variety of different activities including street donations. 
• Liaising with fundraising coordinator 
• Attending fundraising events and helping to fundraise
• Representing NCCR at events 

Time commitment: Flexible

Admin Volunteer

This is the perfect remote role for those seeking to volunteer straight from your own home! Admin is a large part of any charity and NCCR is no different, from answering Facebook messages and emails to handling queries regarding cat welfare and rehoming. 

This role includes:

• Answering Facebook messages and emails
• Responding to queries regarding cat care, behaviour or welfare
• Updating and writing key policies 
• Posting regularly on our social media page
